Geekpure RO Membrane 100 GPD Water Filter Replacement for NSF Certified
Category: aquatic life membrane
The Hidrotek Reverse Osmosis Membrane offers high-efficient filtration for your water purification needs. This membrane meets the following operation specifications:
FEED WATER PRESSURE: 35 - 100 PSI TEMPERATURE: 40 - 110°F/5-45°C pH: 3.0 - 11.0 MAX TDS: 1000 MG/L TURBIDITY: < 1.0 NTU MAX SDI: <4.0 HARDNESS: < 5 GPG IRON: <0.1
With a lifetime of 15-24 months, depending on your feed water quality, and a 2-year shelf life in the original sealed package, this membrane provides reliable and consistent performance. However, it is important to note that the membrane should not be frozen.
To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to flush the new membrane for 30 minutes, as there may be protective material present that needs to be removed. Additionally, if your water is chlorinated, the use of a Carbon/Sediment Pre-Filter is advised, as the residual chlorine can damage the membrane. If the water hardness is too high, it is recommended to install a water softener before the RO unit.
Hidrotek's Reverse Osmosis Membrane is designed to remove up to 98% of contaminants in water, with a minimum rejection rate of 96%. It can effectively remove particles of heavy metals, including fluoride, calcium, magnesium, lead, colloids, chromium, and nitrates, as well as over 1,000 other contaminants from the source water. This membrane is NSF/ANSI Standard 58 certified, ensuring it meets the industry's rigorous quality standards.
The membrane's standard size (11.75" overall length, 1.75" diameter) allows it to fit seamlessly into most residential Reverse Osmosis Systems and water filtration systems with a 2" inner diameter membrane housing. This universal compatibility ensures easy installation and replacement.
The Hidrotek Reverse Osmosis Membrane's high-performance capabilities are further enhanced by its NSF-certified thin-film composite technology, which delivers a higher water production rate. The wastewater ratio is 1:2, meaning that for every gallon of pure water produced, 2 gallons of wastewater are generated.
When it comes to the lifetime of the membrane, it is generally recommended to replace it every 24 months for most tap water (200-500 ppm TDS). However, the actual replacement timeline may vary depending on the usage amount and feed water quality. If the tap water has excellent quality (200 ppm TDS or less), the membrane can be replaced every 36 months. In areas with hard water, some users may need to replace the membrane every 6 or 12 months. It is time to replace the membrane when the flow rate becomes too low or the membrane is clogged.
The Hidrotek Reverse Osmosis Membrane is designed for residential tap water use and can handle water with a TDS up to 2,000 ppm. However, for water with a TDS over 1,000 ppm or very hard well water, the membrane may need to be replaced more frequently, approximately every 12 months.
